I was informed my code breaking was barely acceptable. Either way, at least they seem to be still seriously talking about us wiretapping that meeting room and flying back out on a cargo ship. They've told you about this, right, Waverly?
I have ... a curious problem. Lorena Station computers are different beasts, you know, compared to most. There's the Sonatas which might be close to standardized DOS? And then the early GUI Chorales. Fugues were in production before things went bad. Such a mess. Either way - proprietary operating systems on them.
Someone on Lorena is posting some very unpleasant things. Audio recordings and videos. I could link you to one if needed. A friend said there may be privacy claims that could be made about posting the videos and logs, if you can prove you are the one in the video. However, would there be a way to trace said videos?

Date: 2016-05-29 06:14 am (UTC)You've got a lot of interesting tech up there, all things considered. It's sort of neat, seeing what you've got going and how most of it works actually better. But proprietary. That's the problem is, it?
A link would be appreciated. I can do a fair bit of damage on a few levels if I recognize my elbow or something along the lines. And in theory, that's entirely possible unless someone's got a really really sophisticated program to keep things from leaving behind a trail. ...Do you even do deep web on the station?
Either way....

Date: 2016-05-29 06:25 am (UTC)Proprietary, with some nasty keyloggers and firewalls - the standard corporate security, big brother knows best. Sonatas were always my favorite. The keyboards on the portable version were lovely for typing on a couch or the like. I suppose our deep web was a bit shallow, but teeming? Lots of people talking, but not much going out.
Hell - let me write up a fast transcription. Give me a little here. Not sure if you've got speakers handy, and the shortest video has a scream in it.

Date: 2016-05-29 06:32 am (UTC)Interrogation in IntSec headquarters, dark haired man half visible strapped to a chair, IV bag attached to left arm, intermittent static
Blond man yelling questions about identity of Ace of Clubs of the Cards. Claims bridge was bombed. Fault of man for not revealing identity of Card members.
Man is incoherent.
A few people in background. Blond man takes pills at 1 minute 10.
Man knocks IV out while making a sudden motion. Screams. Video stops at 10 seconds later.
Video was posted without labels in two newsgroups, and a few other places.

Date: 2016-05-29 06:52 am (UTC)I can definitely arrange for one where I am NOW. It should even be secure. Most likely anyway. And if not, then we've got bigger problems than before so honestly. It's worth the attempt I think. I'm trained at least and have a couple weapons I'm good at along with bombs to cover an escape route. I can get people out. I've not done much of it but you don't get field certified unless you're really ready for the field. Little green, according to my boss, but I did help save the world, well, the colonies, when I was still behind the desk so... make of that what you will.
Ooh firewalls. I DO like a good breaking down the firewall game. And that sounds pretty decent so far. A deep web with room for secrets on it, hmm?
Sure thing.

Date: 2016-05-29 07:00 am (UTC)I know a little basic nursing skills, and I had a messy knife and judo self defense class in college. So - not terribly useful. I don't think the blackmailing guys care much.
... The other videos - they mostly seem to be from IntSec. And no, I'm not the one uploading them.

Date: 2016-05-29 07:19 am (UTC)I'm getting the hfeeling I just might. Got into the tech game a little late but...historian initially. Some things never DO die out.
There we go. Nursing skills are handy. I'm pretty crap once people are actually bleeding who aren't me. Good at mostly holding them and spouting platitudes, that sort of thing. When it's me, I usually get ticked enough to keep fighting, or I curl up on the floor and make sarcastic comments, then bite their ankles when they come back around to mess me up. Not very effective but it can be satisfying.
I can certainly check on a source. Besides just IntSec would be better I think. More specific for the forms.

Date: 2016-05-29 07:27 am (UTC)My worry is that some - I don't know - maybe the Federal soldiers found the videos and uploaded them for a cheap thrill. Or it's . . . I know one of the people in these, you see. Character assassination. Or someone trying to help.
